We don't usually allow people to view our puppies until they around 4 weeks old, and starting to show some personality. We do viewings on an appointment system, as we like to be able to spend time with each prospective new owner, and ask and answer any questions we, or they may have. Please try to be on time, or you may be kept waiting. We also respectfully ask that you do not bring any animals on to the premises, and keep the number people to a minimum, as we don't have the facilities to accomodate large numbers of visitors, and have learned from past experience that it is hard to chat properly about the dogs whilst trying to keep an eye on young children. This is not to say that you can't bring your kids, but you must be aware that noise and fuss can upset the mother dog, and we can't allow that to happen. Children under 12 are not allowed to handle puppies UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, and everyone is asked to use hand sanitiser before touching any of our dogs, as puppies are very susceptible to infection at this early age.
We do get a lot of enquiries, and our fair share of timewasters, so you will be asked for your name, address and landline number before you are invited to view our puppies. Please don't be offended, as we have to protect our own interests and those of our dogs.
We ask that all prospective puppy purchasers sign a deposit agreement once you have chosen your puppy, and pay a cash deposit, which is non refundable after the puppy reaches 6 weeks of age. The agreement outlines this, and also states the date you may collect your puppy, which is also the date that the balance is payable.
**** A NOTE ABOUT PAYMENTS ****
Terms are as follows : - DEPOSITS - We prefer that you pay your deposit by cash. We will accept cheques for deposits, but will not fully reserve your puppy until the cheque is cleared. Once funds are in our account, we will then forward you a receipt, and your signed copy of the deposit agreement. Bank transfers are also accepted for deposits in certain circumstances.
BALANCES - Balances are to be paid BY CASH ONLY. There are NO exceptions to this. If you do not have the funds by the collection date, please let us know so that you don't have a wasted journey. and we can come to an arrangement for you to collect at a later date. We WILL NOT release the puppy to you if you do not have CASH to pay the balance. Please be aware that we DO NOT accept cheques for balance payments.
You are welcome to visit your puppy between choosing him/her and collection, once again, on an appointment only basis. Same rules as above.
Once your puppy reaches 10 to 12 weeks, and has had all his/her vaccinations etc, you may collect him/her. This much depends on the individual puppy and we may have to keep your puppy a week or so extra if he or she is not ready for the 1st vaccination. In almost all cases we will keep the puppy here until both vaccinations have been given, or if the puppy is very small he or she may stay until 14 or 16 weeks. Collection is also on a strictly by appointment basis, and we ask that you be as prompt as possible, as we may be seeing a few people that same day, and need to give everyone individual attention. The rules for viewing and visiting also apply to collection regarding number of people and other animals.
We will ask you to sign a Puppy Sales Contract at this stage, which says, amongst other things, that you agree to return the dog to us if you can no longer look after it. You can ask for a copy of this contract beforehand if you wish to read it before you decide to purchase the puppy.
You will then be given our comprehensive puppy pack, along with all the paperwork for your puppy, and a written receipt for the balance paid............and of course, your puppy!!!!
We will then wave you merrily on your way!!!
